In 1867, Amy Carmichael was born in a small seaside village in Northern Ireland. As an adult, she served among factory workers and traveled to Japan, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), and other places to spread the gospel. In 1895, she arrived in India, where she remained until her death in 1952, never leaving the impoverished land she loved. This woman, whose book If touched countless hearts, not only dedicated her life to serving the people of India, who were suffering from poverty and turmoil, but also inspired many to dedicate their lives to God through her numerous beautiful writings and poems.
